The second ODI between West Indies and Australia was postponed after a positive COVID-19 case was confirmed minutes before the opening delivery was to be bowled. A decision on when the match will be replayed will be made once all the test results are confirmed, said the Cricket West Indies.
Australia had opted to bat but the teams were made aware of the development after the toss. Riley Meredith, who was set to make his ODI debut and was included in place of Wes Agar, will now have to wait for his opportunity. The teams will now be placed in managed isolation.
“The second ODI between West Indies and Australia has been postponed due a positive Covid-19 test result from a non-playing member of the West Indies team,” Cricket West Indies said in a statement.
