AB De Villiers Likely To Make Comeback In June, Says Graeme Smith

South African cricket director Graeme Smith has indicated the return of AB de Villiers to international cricket. In June, the South African team will tour the West Indies.

Graeme Smith announced on Thursday that the South African team will go on a tour of the West Indies next month. South Africa will play two Tests and five T20 matches against the West Indies. With the announcement of the tour, Smith hinted that AB de Villiers can once again be seen in the South Africa jersey in the T20 series. Apart from de Villiers, Chris Maurice and Imran Tahir may also return to the team.

AB De Villiers is regarded as one of the finest batsmen to play the game, last played against Australia, in a Test match, in March-April 2018, and has since only featured in franchise cricket.

Meanwhile, AB De Villiers’ brilliant performance in the T20 leagues across the globe has often sparked rumors regarding his potential comeback in international cricket for South Africa.

“It will be fantastic to play for South Africa again, I will be speaking with Boucher late end of IPL – last year, he asked me whether I am interested and I said ‘absolutely’,” de Villiers had said in an IPL press conference.
